Ginger Lime Nectar

Three simple ingredients make this delicious

digestive nectar. Ginger roots volatile oils increase motility in the gastrointestinal tract. It also stimulates the production of saliva, improves digestion, relieves constipation, reduces ama (toxins) and inflammation. Ginger is also known for its anti nausea qualities. A little soothes nausea and in excess can cause nausea. This pungent root will break up congestion and clear dampness. The lime adds a sour quality that will stimulate salivary glands and increase secretions in your digestive tract. These secretions will enhance taste, digestion and elimination. The sour taste will stimulate the flow of bile which aids the liver and gall bladder in metabolizing fats. This helps to detoxify the blood. Even though limes are acidic they have an alkalizing effect in the body. Honey, a gift from the Gods is the first sweetener known to man. Honey is a rejuvenative demulcent that soothes the digestive tract. It also has the ability to enhance the healing properties of other herbs.

1 Part Ginger Juice (you need a juicer or a friend that has a juicer) ex: 1/4 cup

2 Parts Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice 1/2 cup

3 Parts Unprocessed Honey 3/4 cup

Combine all these ingredients and store in a glass container and refrigerate. If you add a splash of hot water before consuming it will bring the nectar back to room temperature. It is most effective at stimulating your agni (digestive fire) at room temperature. Take 1 Tablespoon in a shot glass mixed with the hot water before your main meal to enhance your digestion, assimilation and elimination. This is delicious. Do not take in excess. A small dose will kindle your digestive fire and remove toxins. Too much can make you too fiery.

Contraindicated if you have ulcers or if you experience burning sensations in your gut. If you are pregnant please consult with your doctor before consuming this nectar.
