Healing Foot Bath

Here is the recipe for the healing foot bath that we did at the last workshop. It is simple and so nourishing on many levels. I hope all of you are finding the time to enjoy a foot soak in the evening. The main ingredient I used was Epsom Salt, which is not actually a salt but a pure mineral compound of magnesium sulfate. According to Natural News , "Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body, it plays a crucial role in activating over 300 chemical responses. It is responsible for the proper formation of bones, maintaining normal muscle function, regulating body temperature, and the proper absorption of calcium." Absorbing Magnesium transdermally is an effective way to get magnesium into the bloodstream because you are bypassing the digestive system. Magnesium Sulfate reduces inflammation, helps with muscle and nerve function and improves heart and circulatory health. This easy foot soak will aid in flushing toxins from the body, improve oxygen in the body , enhance the absorption of nutients and it also ease stress and tension. I added Baking Soda because it balances the PH, reduces bacteria and fungi and it helps to soften calluses .

I added a blend of aromatherpy grade essential oils. Lavender is floral and herbaceous. It embodies the protective love of mother earth. Lavender gives a sense of security, compassion and clarity. It encourages acceptance, awareness and emotional balance. Rose geranium is earthy, herbaceous, sweet and floral. This warming and purifying oil alleviates fear and gives back life force and joy. Rose Geranium is calming and uplifting and it reduces stress and worry. Frankincense is adaptagenic, it is the sweet protector of the heavens. It is warm , sweet and spicy. Frankincense gives feelings of emotional stability, protection, courge, enlightenment and inspiration.

I make a big batch so all I have to do is scoop out 1/2 cup, mix with warm water and soak.

1 - 6 lb. bag of Epsom salt

5 and 1/2 cups of Baking Soda

50 drops of Lavender

30 drops of Rose Geranium

20 drops of Frankincense

Three times a week is recommended.

If you have high blood pressure or any other health condition please consult with your doctor before adopting this practice.
