Flow Into Yoga with Lisa Iacono was designed to support and inspire a creative, yogic lifestyle. Flow Into Yoga teaches how to harness the limitless capacity of power in the universe, and is rooted in Vinyasa Flow, with branches extending into many forms, from Ashtanga, to Anusara, and Power Yoga to Iyengar. Flow Into Yoga teaches form before function and is dedicated to enhancing your existing yoga practice or encourage you to discover a new one.Inspiration is always found within, and is the still, quiet voice inside that is all knowing and ever present; the beauty harnessed in the human body, the soul of a birdsong, and the organization of the cosmos. Flow into Yoga draws inspiration from nature, energy, and sacred teachings. The five elements in Chinese Medicine are a magical, yet scientific force present in the natural world. A force that inspires both material and non-material existence. Fire, earth, metal, water and wood give birth to life from inside and out. Shakti, is symbol of the sacred feminine and the goddess of divine creative empowerment. Shakti inspires the divine, primordial, energy that moves through each one of us. Flow Into Yoga was designed to awaken the sacred creative force, from the conception of thought to the flow of movement, and into the transformation of a complete, yogic lifestyle. Lisa has practiced various styles of yoga and Martial Arts for 17 years and has been teaching creative Vinyasa Flow classes for 10 years. Lisa has developed Flow Into Yoga from her extensive background and unique passion for blending science, philosophy and creative yogic arts.  Lisa has continued her education at The Himalayan Institute in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. The Living Tantra program taught by Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, PhD. Spiritual head at Himalayan Institute,  introduced Lisa to many exceptional teachers. Lisa began her Ayurvedic studies 3 years ago. She completed the Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist under Kathryn Templeton, a registered Ayurvedic practitioner and senior Para Yoga Teacher. Lisa graduated as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor in November 2015 from The Himalayan Institutes AYS Graduate School. This is one of the 15 recognized Ayurvedic Health Counselor programs by NAMA, The National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Her teachers Kathryn Templeton and Dr. Rosy Mann inspired Lisa to empower herself and others with the ancient practices of Ayurveda.

Vata is a combination of the elements of Ether and Air. The qualities of this dosha are subtle, clear, light, dry, cold, rough and mobile. Vata is immeasurable. It controls movement in the body. The rhythm of your breath, the beat of your heart and the pulse of your cells. Vata is also the motivating power behind Pitta and Kapha. When in balance, Vata is full of vitality, creativity and flexibility, When Vata is out of balance, one is fearful and anxious. If you want to balance all of the doshas, you must deeply care for vata.

 

Pitta is a combination of fire and water. The qualities of this dosha are hot, sharp, light, liquid, mobile and oily. Pitta controls digestion and metabolism. As well as the food we eat Pitta helps us digest all impressions and emotions. When in balance pitta is content and intelligent. Out of balance you will find anger and inflammation. Pitta relies on vata for movement and Kapha for support.

 

Kapha is the combination of water and earth. The qualities of this dosha are heavy, dull, cold, oily, liquid, soft, static, dense, hard and gross. Kapha controls preservation and cohesion. . It provides the glue that holds our cells together. Kapha lubricates the body and helps to maintain immunity. When in balance Kapha is the expression of love and forgiveness. When out of balance kapha is insecure, full of envy, greedy and possessive. Kapha relies on Vata for movement and Pitta for its heat.
